The Technology In My Life.
William Gibson
My central floating fortress of telecommunications. At my side almost all the time. There have been multiple versions, all under their own pseudonym, carried along on my journey.
- He is a Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G 2024.
- He is rocking Android 15.
- His launcher is OctopiLauncher with the Ombra icon pack.
- Email clients: K-9 Mail & Tutanota.
- Browser(s): The try-hard twins: Vivaldi, everyone’s favorite Chromium fork, and up until the new CEO of Mozilla opened his money-loving mouth, Firefox. (sshh, I still use it tho.)
- Download manager is FDM.
- MP3s are played using Poweramp and beets helps me keep the library organised and metadata correct.
- Video files are split between VLC and mpvEx.
- Photos are taken with the stock Motorola Camera App. When the need for finer-tuned details arises, Open Camera is used.
- Fossify Gallery for viewing and minor edits to image files. The Image Toolbox for most other image editing tasks.
- MiXplorer is the file manager with a can-do attitude. I have yet to find a situation where it fails at the task I give it.
- Termux acts as the link to my VPS & my hobbled together cloud. It also serves as my default means of file manipulation on my phone.
Charles Bukowski
The laptop that keeps on ticking. Acquired by the dustCloud under undisclosed means circa 2022. The EFI boot sector(s) are a graveyard of failed Linux experiments.
- He is an ASUS X Laptop.
- He is rocking MX Linux 25.1
