Things I Stumbled Across: 10-31-25

  • Kahoot Names - A walk down memory lane. Made up names that are highly inappropriate. The one that towers above them all: **Heywood Jablowme. **
  • The Free Dictionary - First and foremost, it is a wonderful and adept dictionary. And, shocker, it’s free. The company, Farlex, which runs the site have the stated mission of “Providing innovative, easy-to-use reference and learning tools.” I can dig on that purpose. Advertising seems to be their bread and butter, like most all of media and the ’net. I’ve visited TFD everyday for the past week and I probably won’t stop doing so for the foreseeable future.
  • Joseph Cornell - American artist born in the early 1900s. Made collages, created object boxes, heavily influenced by film. His works are delightful and ephemeral and invoke a sense of seeing someone’s private thoughts.
